Frederick the Great did more than just create his Sanssouci in Potsdam, with its baroque gardens and the phenomenal Neues Palais, paramount to everything before it. He left his mark on the entire region - even today his influence can be recognized at many locations.

Therefore in 2012, Potsdam, the provincial capital of Brandenburg, will dedicate itself completely to the 300th birthday of Frederick the Great. In addition to the central SPSG anniversary exhibition FRIEDERISIKO (Frederick's Risk) at the Neues Palais at Sanssouci, numerous unique events at diverse locations will take up the themes of the life and impact of the king.
